The Chapter 5 quiz has been set for Wednesday, January 25th, Day 7. A copy of the review sheet can be found in the Notes and Worksheets section of this website.
For the Science Project, all materials can be found in Google Classroom. Here is the lowdown.... First, students were to speak to me about their project idea and then fill out a form in Google Classroom called "Science Fair Topic" (This link will only work if the student is signed in to Chrome with their school Google account.) That was due to be submitted on Monday, January, 16. Second, students are to fill out the document in Google Classroom called Science Project Plans - Either the Project Plan Model or the Project Plan Experiment, depending on the type of project they are doing. Most students have started doing this already and you need to be in Google Classroom to access it. This is due on Monday, January 23. Then they need to start working on their project and start filling out the Student Project Guide. (Link only available if student is signed in to Chrome with their school Google account.) This part will be due with the rest of their project at the end of February. If students have questions, they can always come see me in the library during recess or lunch and there is a help session put on by the Science Department teachers during Day 1 and Day 3 at lunch in room 125. Today we did an activity called Heating Curve of Rubbing Alcohol. Students passed it in and they will get marked on it. The document can be found in the Notes and Worksheets section of this web site.
Tomorrow, we are going to start looking for topics for the science project. I have created a Google Classroom, students will be given instructions on how to join this class during our time tomorrow. In here, students will be able to find all the instructions and handouts for this project, and they will also be required to submit certain pieces of the project through there. To find this information, students need to go to http://classroom,google.com, log in using their school Google account, and they will be able to get in to my 7-1 Science Classroom. I have posted the notes for Chapters 5 and 6. Today we started right in with Chapter 5 and Particle Theory of Matter. Pretty soon I will be introducing the Science Project. Keep watching this space!
Answers for the quiz review sheet is now online. Please remember to put your pj's on inside out, a spoon under your pillow, and flush an ice cube down the toilet. The yellow crayon in the freezer and white crayon on the window ledge is still a theory, which we might have to design an experiment to test. Stay tuned!
The Quiz for chapter 4 has been set for December 14, day 6.
The chapter 4 presentation and review sheet have been posted. Just put a bunch of new review materials and all the answers in the notes and worksheets section of this website. The answers for the review sheet that students have been doing for their homework is there now. Tomorrow, I will be giving a (fake) chapter 3 review quiz and a fake Unit 1 review test. These are not for marks, we just treat it like a test so students can test themselves for what they know and what still needs work. All the answers and some practice quizlets can also be found on the Notes and Worksheets page.
The test for Unit 1 will be held on Wednesday, November 30. It will be on chapters 1, 2, and 3. Review sheets have been given out and can be found in the notes and worksheets section of my website.
There will be a quiz for Chapter 2 this Friday, November 4th. Students have been given the review sheet already. I have also posted a Quizlet.
Also posted in the Notes and Worksheets section are other materials we have been working on in class:
