The quiz for chapter 5 will be held on Monday, January 15th. Students have been given their review sheet, and I asked them to complete page 1 for homework today. I have also posted a quizlet in the Notes and Worksheets section of this website.
The 7-1s are studying heat in their science class. We used a thermal imaging camera to take a class photo. What a great looking bunch of students!
Sorry, false alarm. The quiz will be on Thursday not Wednesday.
The quiz for Chapter 4 will be held on Wednesday, December 13. The review sheet is for homework.

On Tuesday, November 7th, in the afternoon (Day 2), our class will be going on a field trip to the Fluvarium. The cost is $8 and includes transportation, admission to the facility, plus the curricular program. Please get permission slips signed and returned to the school as soon as possible.
Our first quiz has been set for October the 13th (ooohhh! Friday! Scary....) It will be on Chapter 1. Students have been sent home with their notes and a review sheet (Find it in the notes and worksheets section of this website) and I have asked them to start working on it over the weekend. We will do more during the week.
Dear parents of HR 7-1,
As many of you know already, I will be taking students of this class to the Brother Brennan Environmental Education Centre. This is a residential centre located near Deer Park area off Salmonier Line. The program is fun, hands-on, action-packed and curriculum-based, aiming to immerse students in environmentally sound living while building important social skills and learning about the forest ecosystem. I am very much looking forward to enjoying that visit with your children. Here is a video link describing the program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aRhF0Dl-y0&feature=youtu.be Here are the practical details. Our trip is going to be Wednesday/Thursday, October 4th and 5th. We are going with one other class, Mrs Brunet's grade 7 science class. We will leave from school right after homeroom, and we expect to be back to the school on Thursday around 6:00 pm. Here is the link to the the permission forms to in case the paper copy gets lost, and there is also an information sheet and a packing list. The cost will be $75 per child to cover both the centre and the bus. There is a fund available to provide financial assistance as needed. Please note that if your child has an allergy for which they are prescribed an epipen, there is an extra permission form that needs to be signed in consultation with our school principal. Please let me know as soon as possible if that is the case and I will put you in contact. The Centre can accommodate most food restrictions. I would ask that you let me know as soon as possible, and I will pass on the information to the staff who need time to plan accordingly. Finally, I am also looking for a parent volunteer to come as a chaperone so we have adequate adult supervision. In accordance with District policy, this would require someone who has a police check in place. If you have already been volunteering with schools and have this in place, and if you are free to come along, please get back to me - you won't regret it, it's a wonderful time!
