We have started our unit on Ecosystems. Students are responsible for making sure that all their notes have been completed. It is so important that students have a complete set of notes for when it comes time to study for a quiz or test so, this year I will be giving a mark for completed notes packages. All of the sheets I give out in class can be found in the GRADE 7 NOTES AND WORKSHEETS section of this website (on the left). You can find a completed set of notes there as well.
And welcome to my blog! This is my science page for 7-1 at MDJH.
Email is the best way to contact me. My email address is [email protected] On this website you will find all notes, worksheets, updates on what we are doing in class, homework, dates for tests and assignments. The textbook we will be using is called Discovering Science 7. There is an online version of the textbook as well and the username is disc7_se and the password is studentED Here is some general information about our class for 2019 including course descriptors from the Department, general science department procedures at MDJH, information about Science projects, exams, labs, expectations and lots of other goodies you should know about. Departmental regulations have changed regarding testing and we will be having a cumulative, end of year exam. That means we will need to keep our notes from throughout the year so students will need 4 duotangs for each of the 4 unit's notes and work. Students are asked to make sure they come to each class prepared with something to write with. All students have brought in duotangs to put their notes in. A few sheets of looseleaf would not go astray either. We have already finished Lab Safety. Here is the set of worksheets that were given out in class... they can also be found in the GRADE 7 SCIENCE NOTES AND WORKSHEETS section of this web site, along with the answers. Since time is getting so short, there will be no quiz for Chapter 10, we will only have a test for Chapters 10 and 11. This will be held on June 7, Friday. Students have been given the review materials, which can also be found in the Notes and Worksheets section of this web page.
Dontcha just love these beautiful students! This is them making the best of it during our time in the ball field yesterday. <3 The test for Unit 3, Mixtures and Solutions will be held on Wednesday, May 15. It will include Chapters 7, 8, and 9. Review materials can be foundon the notes and worksheets section of this website.
Will be held this Friday, March 22. Students already have their review materials with their notes.
Science project materials are now online in Google Classroom. Students should have already sent me their project idea. Next to be submitted is the Project proposal which is due on Monday, February 11. The project itself will be due on March 1 and the school fair will be held on March 14. Participation in the fair is not required, but students will receive 5 extra marks just for being there. Sweet deal if you ask me. :-)
Will take place on Wednesday, January 30. Students already have the notes and the review questions.
