Next class, we are going to have a look at non-Newtonian fluids - cornstarch and water to be exact. Non-Newtonian just means that when Newton described fluids back in the day, he talked about them having predictable viscosity that was affected by temperature... non-Newtonian fluids don't follow The rules that Newton came up with. The viscosity of cornstarch and water is affected by pressure, not temperature. Here are a few videos to demonstrate.

There will be a test on Unit 4 (Ch. 10, 11, 12) on Wednesday, May 21. All review sheets can be found in the Notes and Worksheets section of this web page. There will be a Science Help session after school on Tuesday (May 20) for those students who would like to review for the test on Wednesday.
