Students have a homework assignment to be passed in tomorrow.  It will be marked.  Page 336 Q 1-4.

All students should have their Science fair idea passed in to me by now.  The next part to be passed in is the Project Idea sheet which is on page 2 of the Science Project Instruction Booklet.  This is due on February 6.

Science Project is due on February 20th and then we will have class presentations.

The school science fair will be held on March 12th.

We missed class this morning (Friday) due to weather but I gave students back their Density in-class assignment.  I will be giving extra help during the first half of lunch on Monday.  Whoever shows up will be able to increase their mark.  

I also gave out the review quiz for Chapter 8 and here are the answers.   Reminder that the quiz for Chapter 8 will be on Tuesday.

The Science Fair workbooklet was handed out yesterday in class.  We have already discussed what it entailed and what the due dates were. Students need to have a plan in place for their project asap and it should be well under way by the end of January.  This is an at-home assignment that is worth 10% of the student's entire grade for the year.  Participation in the school fair is optional; but students will receive an extra 5 % for attending the fair.  I will be answering questions and discussing progress of these assignments in class but students will not be given time to work on them in class.  

Today I gave out an in-class open book assignment on density.  Here are the answers.  I have posted a Chapter 8 review sheet as well.  We have recently upgraded to a newer version of Word, so if you have difficulty opening these files, please let me know.

The quiz for Chapter 8 will be held on Tuesday, January 20th.
