We have skipped a section of the text book so our second unit, about Fluids, will be on chapters 7, 8, and 9.  The quiz for Chapter 7 has been set for next week, Thursday, December 10th.  Homework for this evening is Checking Concepts, Page 298, Questions #1-9.

The test for Unit 1 (Chapters 1, 2, and 3) will be held on Tuesday November 24, Day 4.  The review sheet for the whole unit has been posted. ​Students have been asked to complete the questions for Chapter 3 for homework. These can be found at the end of their Chapter 3 notes.

The class will have a field trip to the Fluvarium this Thursday, November 5th.  Please get your permission slips in asap.  The cost for the field trip is $8.00.

There will be a quiz on Chapter 2 on Monday, November 2.  All class materials, review sheets and answers can be found in the notes and worksheets section of this website.

We have a quiz coming up for Chapter 1 on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 (Day 4).  Today, I gave out Grade 8 Chapter 1 Review sheet to help students with their review this weekend. The answers for the review sheet as well as the powerpoint and notes booklet that I have been using in class can be found in the "Grade 8 Science Notes and Worksheets" section of this website.   Students received new schedules today and previously, our first class back after the long weekend would have been Wednesday, but with the new schedule we will have an extra class on Tuesday that will be used for review. 

The test for the final unit, Unit 4, has been scheduled for June 8.  That gives us a little over a week to prepare for the Scientific Literacy Exam which will be held during exam week.  This unit test will cover Chapters 10 (Cells) and 11 (Body Systems).

The test for the Optics unit will be held on Wednesday, May 6.  Please study Chapters 4, 5, and the notes only from 6.  Review sheets have been posted on the Notes and Worksheets section of this page.

Our test is this Thursday.  In case of bad weather and school is cancelled, students should expect to do the test during our first class back, which would be Tuesday (no science on Day 7, Friday, and Monday is a holiday). Students will need to bring their books home with them to study.  If not, our textbook can be found online but you will need a username and a password in order to access it.  Click on the link then select the chapter you want to view/download.  Use this username and password:
